The EKS-DT process is based on the well-established physics of electrokinetics. EKS has developed a number of patented innovations that have resulted in major improvements in the capital and operating costs of the process as well as improvements in the performance of the dewatering process itself.
The EKS-DT process allows large volumes of tailings and other material to be dewatered rapidly with much lower energy requirements than other electrokinetic processes. The innovative designs that EKS has developed for deploying the EKS-DT process have resulted in capital and operating costs well below current dewatering technologies.
The EKS-DT process has undergone validation through industry and academic peer review. EKS is continuing to refine the process through a optimisation program being run in collaboration with Western University. This ongoing program has already yielded further improvements to the technology.
